Earth First!
Wood for woodstoves and heating has become a deadly lifestyle habit, but its not a necessity, as its less expensive in most places to heat with natural gas. Natural gas burns much cleaner, without creating particulate pollution that contains many cancer-causing chemicals. Particulates from woodsmoke are less than 10 microns in size and once lodged in human lungs, remains there permanently, potentially causing cancer, and certainly causing various other respiratory problems. A night in a neighborhood with a woodburning stove can be as bad as smoking 2 to 4 packs of cigarettes.
