Bliss Paint released by Imaja

Albany, California--04 Aug 94: Imaja, of Albany, California, announces the release of Bliss Paint (TM), an extraordinary new tool for creating animated paintings on the Macintosh. Bliss Paint is available now for $79.95 from Imaja.

Greg Jalbert, founder of Imaja and creator of Bliss Paint, says "Bliss Paint transforms your Macintosh screen into a canvas for stunning animated paintings. Now anyone with a Macintosh can make interactive art and stunning light shows."

Bliss Paint is a powerful tool for multimedia and video production, texture and background generation, interactive performances with music, logo animation, image processing, fine arts, and more. With its innovative features and exquisite aesthetics, Bliss Paint is being used in several major touring pop and rock music shows.

Bliss Paint combines a large library of shape and texture generators, image processing filters, placement algorithms, and a powerful real-time color synthesizer. Synthesized color flows through the images as they are created using color table animation.

Color synthesizer waveforms create endless color effects such as blends, stripes, fades, pastels, deep tones, and neons. The color synthesizer can be controlled from the event sequencer, the Macintosh keyboard, MIDI music instruments, or with standard Macintosh sound input.

A painting event sequencer is included for composing the animated paintings, which are extremely small files directing the playback of shape, texture, and color effects. Animated paintings can be recorded as QuickTime movies for use in other multimedia and video productions, and can be recorded directly to videotape with AV model Macintoshes. The dynamic Bliss paintings can be frozen at any moment and saved as PICT files for use in other applications. PICT files can also be loaded into Bliss Paint for further animations.

Bliss Paint supports a variety of plug-in modules for shape generators, filters, and placement algorithms. Imaja will soon be releasing additional packages of plug-ins for Bliss Paint.

A color monitor is recommended. Bliss Paint requires a Macintosh Plus or later and is compatible with System 7 and Power Macintosh. Bliss Paint also runs on monochrome or grayscale monitors.

Bliss Paint is part of the Bliss family of products including the Bliss Saver screen saver, the Bliss Gallery collection of animated paintings, and the Geometric Bliss collection of dynamic tiling patterns. Paintings created with Bliss Paint can be used in Bliss Saver, making it possible for anyone to easily create screen saver modules.

Note: PICT files or EPS files are available from Imaja for use in reviews, product announcements, and other publications.
